SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh unifies to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti by inviting Dr T H Chowdary (Padma Shri awardee) to deliver an inspiring speech. He has been requested to explore “Mahatma Gandhiji’s Successes and Failures” during the webinar. Dr Chowdary is the Director of Center for Telecom Management and Studies, Hyderabad, along with being the Chairman of Pragna Bharati, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh. Further, he is the Convener of Bharatiya Dharma Rakshana Samakhya. A fellow of Tata Consultancy Services, Dr Chowdary has founded CMD, VSNL, and was the IT Advisor of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. His gamut of experience makes him the embodiment of knowledge who has been continuously contributing to the development of India. Join the session on October 2, 2020, at 12 noon to commemorate the Father of the Nation on his birth anniversary.

SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh invites all the students to participate in the debate “Is Gandhi still relevant in the 21st century?” on October 2, 2020, at 4 p.m. The teachings of Gandhiji is pertinent to the youth of India in the 21st century, guiding them to accomplish their goals, and encouraging them to pursue the path of compassion and kindness. The other notion might be that with the rapidly changing dynamics of the world, and the development of global networks in the modern age, Gandhiji’s philosophy loses its relevance to the youth. On Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, students of SRM AP are urged to discuss and explore the ideologies of Gandhiji and their relevance in the 21st century.

Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) -Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) presents 72nd outreach programme titled “Basics of Geocomputation and Geoweb Services”, which can be availed by the students of SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh.

Geocomputation is an emerging field that uses computational techniques such as neural networks, heuristic search, and cellular automata, for spatial data analysis. It is evolving as an essential scientific realm that encompasses techniques of geographical information systems, neurocomputing, heuristic search and cellular automata.

Students of SRM AP are recommended to participate in this immensely beneficial programme from October 19, 2020 till October 29, 2020. During the programme, attendees will be introduced to Geocomputation – technology and applications, online GIS and geo-web services, open geodata repositories, and ISRO geoweb services for thematic applications, programming concepts for geo-computation, introduction to Python and R, and much more.

Department of Student Affairs organize “An insight to AIESEC” Department of Student Affairs, SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh has organized a webinar, where Aaditya Jain, Fourth Year, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Business Unit Head: AIESEC in Amaravati, will be hosting a session on “An insight to AIESEC”. As the world’s largest youth-run organization present in over 125 countries, International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences (AIESEC) provides cross-cultural global internships and volunteer exchange programmes to the youth. 6 students of SRM AP have successfully completed their internships through AIESEC in Greece, Egypt, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam to work on Website Development, IT, Business and Marketing, Explore, and Mechanical Projects. Students of SRM AP are encouraged to join the session on October 10, 2020, at 5 p.m. to know more about the internship programmes that would assist them to emerge as global professionals.

Department of Student Affairs, SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh has requested Dr Smita Sharma, Student Counselor, SRM AP, to deliver a session on ‘Understanding Mental Health and Strengthening Well-Being’ on “World Mental Health Day” – October 10, 2020, at 4 p.m. The widespread perception of mental illness is associated with stigma, largely due to lack of awareness. Also, not addressing the mental health issues may lead to anxiety disorders, and mood disorders. Dr Smita will take the audience through the lecture session, which would enable the students to help themselves and the people around them to overcome the overwhelming situation.
