Igniting Entrepreneurial Sparks: Varsity Hosts Entrepreneurship Bootcamp 1.0 for Young Innovators
The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp 1.0 Demo Day, hosted by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at SRM University-AP on March 31, 2024, marked a fitting culmination of rigorous entrepreneurship training for aspiring student and faculty entrepreneurs. Dynamic pitches were presented by participants through the demonstration of their innovative ideas, astute business models and go-to-market strategies, complemented by sharp & insightful feedback from global investors and world-class mentors. The elite panel of industry mentors included Srikanth Talluri, Founder and CMD of 6D.Works, Rathnakar Samavedam, Investment Director & CEO Hyderabad Angels, Deb Mukherji, Chief Advisor-Anglian Omega Group – India, Siddharth Dangi, Founder & CEO at Mentogram, Singapore, Ravi Eswarapu, President of TIE, CXO turned Entrepreneur and Dr Dhiraj K Mahajan, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Ropar along with Prof. Manoj K Arora, Vice Chancellor of SRM AP.
The Entrepreneurship Boot Camp 1.0 at SRM AP was a comprehensive 6-week cohort featuring 8 interactive sessions carefully curated for a dedicated pool of 60+ selected participants, who immersed themselves in an intensive boot camp guided by Prof. Sidharth Tripathy, a Harvard Alumnus and a Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at SRM AP.
Participants navigated the intricacies of ideation, business development, and strategic planning as the curriculum featured world-class case studies, practical implementation roadmaps, and real-time engagements with industry and business mentors of international calibre. From a competitive pool of 180 applicants, a rigorous selection process resulted in the acceptance of only 60 candidates. Further refinement led to the identification of 16 standout ventures. Ultimately, a select group of 10 ventures was chosen to receive a grant of Rs 50,000 each, thereby empowering them to incubate, accelerate, and build their ventures in Hatch Lab Research Centre, the incubator of SRM AP.

Innovation Cell presents Smart Idea Contest – Fortune always favours the BRAVE!
The innovation cell of SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh has arranged the Smart Idea contest on January 31, 2020. Ideated by Mr Udayan Bakshi, Associate Director, Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the contest aims at ushering individuals to envisage a better world through innovative ideas, concepts, and aspirations. During this competition, the participants would be presenting their impactful concept, prototype, project, research, and business idea, to unravel problems of the society.
The essence of life encompasses ambitions, and the determination to make a difference to the society. Participating in the contest will enable students, faculty, staff, alumni, PhD scholars to brave an idea and enhance their visibility. Apart from being mentored by the industry experts, the pacesetters will receive seed funding, venture capital funding, and additional support to shape and scale up their businesses. Unconventional visionaries inclined to augment the purpose of life are urged to participate in the contest to establish a better world.

Innovation Cell empowers SRM AP teams to emerge glorious in Toycathon-2021
The smart minds of SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh receives an opportunity to present their creative skills in the Toycathon-2021. Organized by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, Toycathon- 2021 challenges India’s contemporary minds to conceptualize Toy and Games inspired by Indian civilization, history, culture, mythology, and ethos. This unique opportunity will also enable exceptional innovators to win prizes worth Rs. 50 lakhs. In addition, the winning team’s efforts will be commercialized with support from the industry and investors.
The Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, SRM University AP has developed a panel of experts who will validate the presentation of the groups eager to participate in the contest. Further, assistance will be provided to the groups at every stage of the competition including support in preparing an enthralling pitch. This will empower the teams to have an edge while representing SRM AP in the national forum.

E-cell presents a discussion on “Why top companies started at the university campus?”
E-Cell or Entrepreneur cell at SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh fosters a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. The e-Cell of Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (IDEA), SRM University-AP is back with another exciting chapter. ‘Unleash Mind’ is a programme that unlocks the mind’s untapped potential through some of the ancient and proven scientific techniques.
Albert Einstein once said, “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them”. This is the simplest indication of the various levels and frequencies of our mind.
We all must have experienced that when we need a solution, we start thinking. When we start thinking, we go into the depths of our minds. Sometimes, the tranquillity feels like a dream or bliss or a peaceful state mingled with creativity and a flow of thoughts that eventually aids you to come up with a solution.
Everything begins with some simple understanding of the fundamentals of life, based on some laws of this universe. If one can master one’s thinking ability, he/she will be able to expand and enhance his/her capabilities. Controlling your mind empowers you with the potentiality of controlling your life.

Technology Business Incubator(TBI) of SRM university-AP launches first startup venture cohort
Technology Business Incubator(TBI) of SRM university-AP, Andhra Pradesh, is launching the first startup venture cohort with 35 selected startup ventures on May 15, 2021.
A very special guest of honour, Prof Ramesh Loganathan, Head of Co-innovation and Outreach at IIIT Hyderabad and Ex-Chief Innovation Officer of Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC), will interact with the teams and share his valuable industry experience and explain the scope of innovation and entrepreneurship as a career in India.
62 teams which comprise of 192 students applied for the opportunity. After a rigorous screening and evaluation on various parameters like innovation, scalability and commercialization, only 35 teams/ventures were selected to be a part of the SRM TBI’s first cohort.
The selected ventures will be mentored and supported for a period of minimum 12 months where they will be facilitated with infrastructure support, mentoring and networking support, seed fund and innovation fund support, hardware and software support, industry connectivity, learning resources, market exposure and several others.
The event will start with the welcome address of Prof V S Rao, Vice-Chancellor, SRM University-AP, followed by talk sessions of Dr Prakash Yadav, Head Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (IDEA) and Vice President SRM TBI and Mr Udayan Bakshi, CEO SRM TBI and Associate Director-Entrepreneurship.

Industree Owl, a community of E-Cell and part of the Department of Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (IDEA), SRM University-AP, has come forth to organise a motivating lecture on “Fly-High Beyond Boundaries – Air Logistics and Related Opportunities” with industry-expert, Sri Saurabh Kumar, CEO of GMR Hyderabad Air Cargo on June 19, 2021, at 6 pm. In the session, Sri Saurabh Kumar will enlighten and engage with the participants with his extensive knowledge and expertise in the domain.
