    The management precinct of SRM University-AP, The Paari School of Business strives to generate young entrepreneurs, bankers and business leaders who are financially capable and independent citizens of the nation. The school has conducted a “Financial Literacy Programme for Young Citizens” (CSR Project of Kotak Securities ). The 10-hour programme held from March 01 to 03, 2023, was organised to provide practical training for students of management on the following concepts:-

    • Importance of Investments and Financial Investment Opportunities
    • Introduction to Securities Market ( Process and Prerequisites to invest in Securities Market)
    • Precautions while investing in the Securities Market.
    • Investor Protection and Grievance Redressal Mechanism

    This Financial Education for young citizens endeavours to impart them with the following objectives:-

    • Deeper awareness about the career opportunities available in the Securities Market and Financial Services
    • Deeper awareness about Entrepreneurial Opportunities available in the Securities Market
    • Empowering students to face interviews in the financial services industry
    • Creating awareness about the personal finance framework
    • Creating awareness about the prerequisites of investing in the Securities Market
    • Creating awareness about the risks involved while investing in the Securities Market
    • Capability Building for Evaluation of Investment Opportunities in the Securities Market
    • A better understanding of the Securities Market

    E-certificates were issued to all students who participated and scored above 60% marks.

  • INFINITUS 2023: The Biggest Cultural Fiesta April 26, 2023

    The most anticipated three-day national-level cultural fest of SRM University-AP, INFINITUS 2023, has concluded at the varsity on Monday, April 24, 2023. Indian pop sensation Armaan Malik headlined the large-scale celebration with a live stage performance of his hit songs. Over 3000 attendees, including students from 5+ neighbouring universities, gathered for the festival that featured 50+ competitions across 9+ genres. The Directorate of Student Affairs of the university is organising such an illustrious event three years after the last cultural fest.

    Lost Stories, the biggest dance music exports in India known for their Performances at Tomorrowland, Global Citizen Festival, Mysteryland, New Horizons festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, Sunburn, VH1 Supersonic etc.; Akshar, the Hyderabad-based rock band; and DJ night by DJ Kim were the other major attractions of the cultural fiesta. Multiple Western and Classical music and dance events, Theatre activities, Creative arts-related segments, Anime contests, Quiz competitions, E-Sports, Cubing, Lifestyle activities, and Photography contests were also part of the most anticipated three-day-long festival. Prizes were distributed to the winners of every competition.

    INFINITUS 2023 was inaugurated with a balloon release on Saturday, April 22, 2023, by Prof. Manoj K Arora, Vice Chancellor of SRM University-AP. Pro-vice-chancellor Prof. D Narayana Rao, Registrar Dr R Premkumar, and other dignitaries were also present at the occasion. “Students are an integral part of any great university system. Be it a technical, sports, cultural, or business fest, at SRM University-AP, festivals are always by the students, for the students and from the students”, said Prof. Manoj K Arora as he addressed the gathering. He emphasised the importance of co-curricular activities and stressed that one must balance academics and co-curricular activities.

    A cinematic launch of the event was screened and was received by the audience with great cheer and enthusiasm. G K V Manikanta, President-Student Council of SRM University-AP, expressed that he aspires to organise many more events that promote community inclusivity and service.

  • SRM University-AP Inked MoU with the Andhra Pradesh Space Application Centre April 21, 2023

    SRM University-AP has signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh Space Application Centre (APSAC) to collaborate on scientific research in geospatial technology, drone technology and its allied technologies. This collaboration, without any profit motive, aims at creating programmes for popularising and creating awareness about geospatial science through various national and international level initiatives.

    SRM University-AP plans to involve scientists of APSAC to share their expertise with the Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral students of the varsity. Research Scholars working in the domain of geospatial and drone technology will get an opportunity to regularly interact with the scientists and get exposure to various ongoing funded projects.

    While signing the MoU, Dr B Sundar, Special Secretary, Department of IT, Electronics, and Communications, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and Vice Chairman of APSAC, and Prof. Manoj K Arora, Vice Chancellor of SRM University-AP and Professor of Geospatial Technologies, discussed the need for including various overlooked theories such as Haversine theories which could be a part of geography in school education. ‘‘There is a huge scope to work on practical problems in the areas of agriculture, water, and transportation for the state of Andhra Pradesh. The faculty at SRM University-AP and the scientists at APSAC will together solve some such problems”, said Prof. Manoj K Arora. Dr B Sundar said that he very excited to work with SRM University-AP.

    Through this collaboration, both organisations intend to brainstorm and identify the grand problems on which the resources can leverage to find an optimal solution. The Centre for Geospatial Technology and Centre of Drone Technology at SRM University-AP will closely work with APSAC. It is also intended to develop various job-oriented courses that can create an Indian geospatial human force.

  • UDGAM 2023: Compete, Connect and Conquer April 21, 2023

    udgamThe highly anticipated three-day national-level sports fest, UDGAM 2023, of SRM University-AP, was filled with great excitement and enthusiasm as 191 teams from 14+ universities across the state competed in various sports events. With a total player count of over 800, UDGAM 2023 proved to be an excellent platform for athletes to showcase their skills and sportsmanship.

    ‘‘Next year, we want to scale up UDGAM to make it one of the major sports fests in the state, which gathers students from different universities for their competitive spirit and allows them to learn from each other. Because if we are physically fit, we can focus on academics”, said Prof. Manoj K Arora, Vice Chancellor, SRM University-AP, while inaugurating the closing ceremony. He also congratulated all the students for their passionate participation.

    udgam sports festUDGAM is an annual sporting event of SRM University-AP that brings together students, faculty, and staff from varsities across the state to participate in competitions and showcase their athletic abilities. Cricket, Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Powerlifting, Rope skipping, Tennis, Table-Tennis, Athletics, and many more competitions were the highlights of the fest. KL University, VIT-AP University, and SRM University-AP were the most awarded universities of the sports fest. RVR & JC College of Engineering won the Cricket match, and KL University won the Football finals and Women’s Volleyball.

    “The event was a huge success, and the students were offered a great opportunity to showcase their talent and sportsmanship. Students across the state participated in the fest despite the scorching sun, making our first sports fest a milestone for the future batches”, said student council president and a national-level tennis player G K V Manikanta.

    Prof. D Narayana Rao, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, SRM University-AP; Dr R Premkumar, Registrar, SRM University-AP; Dr Vijay Kumar Upadhyay, Director- Sports, SRM University-AP; and Mr Pankaj Belwariar, Director of Communications, SRM University-AP were also present at the prize distribution ceremony.

  • Agricultural Utility Vehicle: Patent Granted to Inventors from the Department of EEE April 19, 2023

    Agricultural Utility VehicleConventional agricultural utility vehicles used for crop cultivation involve complex operations such as ploughing and seeding, require trained personnel, and are expensive and not affordable to many farmers, especially in developing countries. Thus, there is a need for an agricultural utility vehicle for carrying out crop cultivation activities that alleviate the drawbacks of conventional practices.

    Researchers at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering have been granted a patent for an invention entitled An Agricultural Utility Vehicle for Crop Cultivation Activities (Application number 202241051059). Assistant Professor Dr Somesh Vinayak Tewari and his students Gundrevula Sisir Srivastav, Kolisetty Jayanth, Tempalli Pallavi Sri, and Jayana Keerthi Tanvita have accomplished this milestone through their dedicated research.

    Abstract

    The present disclosure discloses an agricultural utility vehicle (1000) for carrying out crop cultivation activities comprising a framed structure (200) having wheels configured to be driven in an open plot of land. An agricultural implement (400) is configured to be attached to the vehicle. An electric drive system (100) is configured to drive the framed structure, and a battery (300) is coupled to the electric drive system to provide power.
