Five students of SRM University, AP Amaravati, will be attending the Global Learning & Outreach from Berkeley Engineering (GLOBE) programme at University of California, Berkeley.
The SRM Amaravati has collaborated with the University of California Berkeley (UC Berkeley) under its GLOBE visiting student program, to offer semester abroad courses.
The programme will commence in January 2018 to May 2018.
At the spring 2018 session, a team of five students from SRM Amaravati including Aayushi Biswas, Tuhin Sarkar, Abhirami Ravishankar, Vatsal Rathod and Pushva Mitra will be taking up courses worth 12 – 15 credits from Sutardja Center of Entrepreneurship and Technology (SCET) and The Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation within UC Berkeley.

The GLOBE Centre for Global Learning and Outreach from Berkeley Engineering (GLOBE) is to expand Berkeley Engineering’s international partnerships and activities through four primary activities such as, establishing and supporting extensive educational and research programs with international partner universities, facilitating international internships for engineering students, providing courses on innovation and entrepreneurship outside of the US, and providing educational programs on technological innovation for international corporate and government partners.
The University of California is known to be an entity unmatched with respect to Engineering and Technology, UC Berkeley has an impressive list of achievements that very few universities could match. It is one of the top rank institutions and has produced many Nobel laureates.
The SRM University, AP – Amaravati, is envisaged to be a multi-disciplinary institution starting off with programs in engineering, followed by liberal arts and later on in fields of management, law, medical sciences, pure sciences.
SRM envisions emerging as a world-class university in creating and disseminating knowledge and providing students a unique learning experience in their chosen field of scholarship that would best serve the society.
