DOHA:A thriving community of students in Qatar, interested in pursuing their studies in India, got a first hand chance to interact with some of the top educational institutions from the country on Friday at the Knowledge Fair 2018, organised by The New Indian Express in Doha.
The two-day fair was inaugurated on Friday and representatives from premier institutions like VIT, Crescent University, SRM University Chennai, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Nitte University, Reva University, BMS Institutions, Bengaluru, Treamis World School, MS Ramaiah Group, Acharya Institutes, IES College of Engineering and Garden City college were present.
Around 22 institutions in total took part in the fair on Friday and are educating prospective students from Qatar about more than 100 courses from the engineering, medicine, aeronautical engineering, management, fashion, arts and science and other branches of study. The fair saw a great response on its first day and will continue on Saturday as well. Besides students, even parents and teachers took part in the fair and were told about the advancing trends in education in India as well as career opportunities for those looking to stay back after their education.
Major attractions at the venue, the KG Hall, MES Indian School, Doha, included a special session by John Louis on unlocking brain power, a session for parents on getting to know their children by Ananth Prabhu, Vikas Academy, Mangaluru, and individual guidance by experts for students and parents advising them of career opportunities in fields like visual communication, architecture, mass communication, animation, genetics, bio-technology, nano-technology, common entrance test as well as coaching for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams held every year.The fair will also feature a mock CET test held for students and toppers will get a special award by TNIE.
