Dr Ravi Gadepalli, an independent Consultant to the World Bank and Asian Development Bank (ADB). About the Speaker
Dr Ravi Gadepalli is an independent consultant working with the World Bank Group and Asian Development Bank over the past five years, with more than fifteen years of overall experience working on transport policy, planning, financing, and advocacy projects. His ongoing work includes public transport and electric mobility engagements in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Nigeria. The majority of his experience is based out of India including active collaboration with Government and Industry stakeholders to advance public transport and other sustainable mobility practices such as electric mobility, walking, cycling, and vehicular emission standards.
Dr Ravi has contributed to National and State level policy initiatives like the National aggregated electric bus procurement program, the Committee to reform public transport in Karnataka, JNNURM, the Smart Cities mission and the FAME scheme. His city-level work included developing Comprehensive Mobility Plans (CMPs), and feasibility studies for mass transit and non-motorised transport projects using travel demand models. Dr Ravi received his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi for his work on ‘Developing a framework for integrated planning of bus and paratransit services in Indian cities’. Dr Ravi presented his work at various National and International forums and published twelve articles in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
