Exploring Innovation: The Graduate Workshop on Designing and Fabricating FIHAB

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is excited to announce a highly informative workshop on the “Design and Fabrication of Flameless Indoor Hot Air Balloon (FIHAB)” conducted by the well-renowned academician Prof. R K Pant. He is the head of the Lighter-Than-Air Systems Laboratory at the Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Bombay. Join us to broaden your understanding and gain a practitioner’s viewpoint on this vital aspect of Hot Air Balloons on April 01 & 02, 2024.
Brief Description of Workshop
The workshop aims to provide hands-on exposure to undergraduate students of Engineering in conceiving and trying out some concepts to solve a problem using basic principles of geometry, buoyancy, and thermal sciences. The key aim of the workshop is to give the participants a flavour of conceiving, developing, and testing of a simple buoyancy-based system to meet certain requirements within operational constraints.
