At SRM-AP, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences serves to provide our students with a well-rounded education that combines understanding of cultures and society along with rigor in the sciences and engineering, so that they are keenly aware of the needs of the community and society they live in and are equipped to make significant impact. 

As part of General Education Requirements, every student is required to take a minimum of six courses in Humanities and Social Sciences. The courses offered cover Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, Linguistics, Oral and Written Communication Skills, Professional Law and Ethics, among others.  Minors in several of the humanities disciplines are also being evolved in partnerships with international experts.
