Bridging Industry and Academia: Departmental Expert Talk

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is organising a “Departmental Expert Talk from Academia and Industry.” Dr Malay Bhattacharyya, Associate Professor, Machine Intelligence Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata will deliver an online session on “Human Computation for Social Good” and Mr Malay Kumar Khawas, Master Principal Cloud Architect and Global Leader – Oracle Community of Practice (Data Management), Oracle Technology, will deliver a session an in-campus on “Oracle Database High Availability and Disaster Recovery in a Multi-cloud Environment for Mission-Critical Enterprise Applications”.
About the Speakers
Dr Malay Bhattacharyya is currently an Associate Professor of Machine Intelligence Unit, the Coordinator of Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and an Associate Member of Technology Innovation Hub on Data Science, Big Data Analytics, and Data Curation at Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. He is a certified Design Thinker from the MIT Sloan School of Management and holds a doctorate in Computer Science from the Indian Statistical Institute. He has several decades of teaching and research experience, including short academic visits to Stanford University, the University of Ljubljana, and the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
