SRM University Amaravati to set up School of Liberal Arts and Basic Sciences
SRM University on Wednesday announced the setting up of School of Liberal Arts and Basic Sciences (SLABS) at its campus in Amaravati.

Vijayawada: Dr P Sathyanarayanan, President, SRM University, Andhra Pradesh, in a programme here on Wednesday announced the setting up of School of Liberal Arts and Basic Sciences (SLABS) at its university campus in Amaravati.
SLABS will have its first intake of students in 2018 and will offer B.A, B.B.A, B.Com and B.Sc programmes across 12 departments – Economics, English, History, Journalism, Psychology, Business Studies, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Computer Science. “Today, we face increasingly complex issues and challenges, and tackling these calls for multi-dimensional thought processes and problem solving skills.
Hyderabad: As many as five students of SRM University, AP, Amaravati, are attending the Global Learning & Outreach from Berkeley Engineering (GLOBE) programme at University of California, Berkeley. SRM Amaravati has partnered with University of California Berkeley (UC Berkeley) under its GLOBE visiting student programme to offer semester abroad courses.
Warangal: It will be NIT, Warangal versus SRM University in the final of the 16th SR Champions Trophy South Indian inter-engineering Collegiate T-20 cricket tournament. The programme will commence in January 2018 to May 2018.
At the spring 2018 session, a team of five students from SRM Amaravati including Aayushi Biswas, Tuhin Sarkar, Abhirami Ravishankar, Vatsal Rathod and Pushva Mitra will be taking up courses worth 12 – 15 credits from Sutardja Center of Entrepreneurship and Technology (SCET) and The Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation within UC Berkeley.

Beginning July 2018, over 240 students are likely to be enrolled in B.A, B.B.A, B.Com and B.Sc. The applications for admission will be submitted online on the application portal of SRM AP Amarawati at www.srmap.edu.in
