SRM University-AP Wins Amadeus Hackathon Challenge at San Francisco, USA

Students of SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh have again proved their talent by winning Amadeus Challenge at the Developer Week Hackathon, which is one of the world's largest challenge-driven hackathons, held at San Francisco, USA. Around 600 participants took part in this hackathon, which also included many working professionals from top companies like Amazon, Apple, Canon etc. During their Semester Abroad Programme at University of California- Berkeley, Abbas Mohammed along with Jaideep Cherukuri and Sagun Suryavanshi represented SRM University-AP in this contest. The three-member team of SRM University-AP won the first prize worth INR 80K by building an end to end commercial flight booking platform which enabled personalized tours at visa permitted layover destinations thereby reducing travel costs and transforming the most stressful part of air travel to be exciting.

Jaideep and Abbas are currently working on an ML-based Research project powered by Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology under Prof. Ikhlaq Sidhu (Faculty Director & Chief Scientist, Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology; IEOR Professor, UC Berkeley).

Other students of the Semester Abroad Programme are also achieving milestones such as - Rishivanth Katragadda, a 3rd Year student of Computer Science and Engineering, has been selected by the Data Science Society at Berkeley, and will be working on an Industry Sponsored project. Another student, Sajan Kumar (3rd Year, Computer Science and Engineering) along with Rishvanth has been nominated as mentors at the IEEE student branch at UC Berkeley.
