Dr Srabani Basu, Associate Professor in the Department of English, is a veteran teacher with 28+ years of teaching and training experience. She is also the Faculty In-charge of Alumni Affairs, a forum that seeks to maintain a cordial relationship with the students graduating from the university. The Directorate of Alumni Affairs aims to foster a sustainable association with the alumni of SRM University-AP by maintaining their database, monitoring their activities, and catering to their needs and interests.
Over her two decades of rich teaching experience, she has worked in various teaching and non-teaching organisations across the country. Dr Srabani has also made her mark as a professional trainer in corporate management with a core focus on areas like soft-skill training, coaching, consulting, and communication skill development. She is also an ardent researcher who is currently exploring the use of metaphor as a therapeutic tool to enhance mental health and also working on Symbolic modelling.
Dr Srabani was conferred with PhD in English from Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya, Chhattisgarh, in 2003 and an MS in Psycho analysis & Psychotherapy from the Institute of Psychotherapy Management Studies, Maharashtra. She is an NLP Master Practitioner, certified by the European Board of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Recently, an anthology co-authored by Dr Srabani titled “Diamond India - Unheard Songs of Obscure Heroes" was launched to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence. She was also the only scholar from India whose paper was selected for presentation at the Venice International Conference on Shakespeare, organised by the Armenian Shakespearean Association.
As the Faculty In-charge of the Alumni Affairs, Dr Srabani will be responsible for maintaining close coordination with the alumni community of SRM University-AP and collaborating with them to create rewarding opportunities for the holistic progress of the University.
