  • Macroscopic continuum models for non-lane based heterogeneous traffic environment, First order and higher order hyperbolic continuum models, Numerical methods for Hyperbolic PDEs, Lagrangian models, Macroscopic equilibrium models and traffic flow characteristic for heterogeneous traffic flows, Car following models
  • Application of machine learning and statistical tools in transportation engineering: traffic state estimation, short term and long term traffic flow prediction, traffic sign classifications, lane detection, distress classification , road condition estimation, gap acceptance modelling and so on.
  • Pedestrian emergency evacuation studies for small and large gatherings, evacuation modelling, development of management plans, data collection methods.
  • Modelling Autonomous Vehicles (AV) in mixed traffic environment, Interaction between AV and manually driven vehicles, Car following models and continuum models for mixed vehicle environment, Transport policy measures.
