Bharat Anveshan: Unveiling the Unseen – National Short Video Competition

“Bharat Anveshan,” organised by SRM University-AP, is a national annual competition aimed at inspiring school students (classes VIII to XII) to explore, showcase, and appreciate India’s lesser documented heritages through short videos. The competition encourages creative storytelling and research on India’s diverse cultural, natural, and artistic traditions. Amaravati, as the emerging capital of Andhra Pradesh with its rich cultural past and traditions, offers an apt space for young cultural enthusiasts to showcase their local diverse cultures at SRM University-AP. The heritage showcasing may include tangible, non-tangible and natural.

• Tangible heritage consists of items or things that exist in physical form, such as monuments, artefacts, artwork, tools, etc.
• Non-tangible heritage exists in non-physical form and includes practices, representation, expression, knowledge, skills
• Natural Heritage can be categorised as landscape, flora, fauna, peoples’ diverse ways of living in their natural ecology

1. Promote awareness of India’s cultural heritages.
2. Foster creativity, storytelling and historical awareness in students.
3. Encourage exploration of India’s multiple cultures.
4. Provide a platform for students to showcase their talent.

Competition Details:

• Eligibility: Students in classes 8 to 12 across India.
• Theme: Short videos (under 5 minutes) on lesser-known aspects of Indian heritage.

Submission Criteria:

• Original content in English or any Indian language (with English subtitles or a Word document with the video).
• Copyrighted material allowed with permissions.
• Ethical standards and cultural sensitivity required.

Submission Process:

1. Register on the official website.
2. Follow the guidelines provided via confirmation email.
3. Upload videos to the designated platform.
4. Complete the submission form with the necessary details.
5. Submission deadline to be communicated.
