Sunshine 2022: A Day Spent in the Service of Others

On the occasion of Children’s Day, SRM University-AP organises “Sunshine- 2022”, an event to celebrate Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s birth anniversary. The varsity organised the celebrations at Vijaya Mary Integrated School for the Blind – Gunadala, Vijayawada.

Pandit Nehru held children in high regard. He believed “Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow”. The event was organised with the aim of raising awareness about the rights, education, and welfare of the children at the blind school. Various competitions and fun activities were organised to engage the students. The varsity students also took part in entertaining the students with games and other performances. Students of the varsity also interacted with the faculty of the blind school in order to understand the students’ conditions better. Winners of the competitions were rewarded with water bottles.

The celebrations culminated with the varsity distributing food, chocolates and juice to the children. The children felt delighted and spent a joyful time with the SRM AP family.
