Overview

SRM University-AP invites applications for full time PhD degree programme in arts, science, engineering and management. The objective of the programme is to guide the scholars in an innovative way to become top-class researchers in various fields of study leading to PhD degree.

SRM University-AP was established with a vision to bring about innovation in higher education and learning in emerging areas of the knowledge society. This PhD programme is in-line with the overall vision to become one of India’s premier research-led University.

The applications for admission into PhD programmes are invited throughout the year. There is no last date for the applications, however, selection process will take place four times in a year (Jan, April, Aug and Nov.). The applications can be made online after paying a non-refundable fee of Rs.1200/- (Rupees One thousand and two hundred only).

Eligibility & Admission Procedure

Eligibility & Selection Criteria The candidate should possess at least 60% marks in aggregate or its equivalents grade in master’s degree level. The admission is based on a written entrance examination (4 times a year, Jan, April, Aug and Nov.) followed by an interview.

Applicants who have qualified national wide examinations, UGC-NET (including JRF)/joint UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ICAR (ASRB)-NET/ICMR JRF/DBT-JRF/NBHM are exempted from entrance examination and will appear directly to the discussion meeting for PhD enrolment. The national fellowship holders and potential DBT INSPIRE applicants are welcome to contact the faculties of their research interest.

University Fellowship

Selected PhD students will receive a fellowship of Rs. 36000/- per month. The University will also financially support participation in national/international conferences.

Hostel & accommodation

Students will be provided boarding and accommodation at a highly subsidised rate.

Fees

  • One-time registration fee: INR 10,000/-
  • Tuition fee: INR 40,000 per annum [completely waived as part of the scholarship]
  • Thesis evaluation fee: INR 10,000/ [at the time of thesis submission]
