About the Centre

The Centre for Drone Technology (CDT) at SRM University-AP is a multi-disciplinary centre that aims to train skilled personnel, increase community involvement, and establish a research hub through collaborative studies.

CDT strives to conduct research on drone technology and its applications in various real-life problems. The centre also aims to involve all relevant parties, including government agencies, private entities, and local communities, to understand their needs and cater the technology-driven solutions.

Mission

Centre for Drone Technology (CDT) provides technical and related support for in-house research on the fabrication, deployment and applications of drones carried out by the faculty and students.

The mission of CDT is to provide hands-on experience to demonstrate the potential applications using drone technology through UROP/Capstone projects/Project-based courses carried by the students as part of the curriculum.

Team CDT

The team of CDT comes with faculty and staff members of SRM University-AP with vast experience in fabrication, flight planning & deployment, data analytics, cyber security, and AI/ML, offering services to various government and non-government agencies. Services of CDT range from education, training, and implementation of customised solutions.

CDT Envisages..

  • Sharing knowledge and practices with other academic institutions and the local communities.
  • Conducting various research symposiums to formulate interdisciplinary problems enabling various faculty members to contribute solutions to real-world problems.
  • Serving as a Remote Pilot Training Organization (RPTO) to create the skill force that can cater to the Nation’s needs in the drone technology sector.

Goals of CDT

  • To promote research on drone technology within the university and actively collaborate with other academic/industry institutions/organisations.
  • To create an interdisciplinary research environment and encourage faculty members and students to explore the possible applications and reap the benefits of drone technology.
  • To provide experiential learning to the student community

Opportunities at CDT

Access to High-Performance Computational services as a central facility in SRM University-AP
