In general, “Meditation” refers to a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as invoking a mantra, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. Meditation is practiced in numerous religious traditions. The earliest records of meditation (dhyana) are found in the Upanishads, and meditation plays a significant role in the Buddhist and Hindu traditions. Recently, meditative techniques have also been found application in non-spiritual contexts, such as business and health. The Curriculum Program on “Meditation: Technique and Benefits”, will teach the Sahaj Samadhi Meditation Technique to the students. Sahaj Samadhi is an ancient, mantra-based meditation technique that has been passed down through the lineage of spiritual masters and their disciples. The program will also include the core Sudarshan KriyaTM breathing technique and Pranayamas.

The basic program content:-

  • Sahaj Samadhi Meditation Technique
  • Initiation of the students - each participant will get their personal mantra.
  • 4 states of consciousness
  • The three Gunas – Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas – and how meditation balances them
  • Breathing techniques (like the world-renowned and well-researched Sudarshan KriyaTM)
  • Some physical exercises, participative group activities & games to develop interpersonal & communication skills
  • Case-study analyses to reinforce program lessons and values
