About the Centre

The Centre for Geospatial Technology (CGT) at SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh is an interdisciplinary research centre that aims to harness the power of geospatial science and provide solutions to industry and socially relevant problems while enabling students to learn about Geographical Information Science (GIS) through experiential learning. The mission of CGT is to spearhead the advancement of GIS technology through active collaborations with academic institutions and industries. The team of CGT, with vast experience in geospatial technology, offers services to various government and non-government agencies and also industries. Services of CGT range from education, training, and implementation of customised GIS solutions.

1. MoU with APSAC

Andhra Pradesh Space Applications Centre (APSAC) a society established under the Information Technology, Electronics & Communications Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, is the State Nodal agency for offering Geospatial Solutions (Remote Sensing, GIS, Advanced Survey and Mapping, Locations Based Services, etc.) to the State of Andhra Pradesh.

2. MoU with ACACIA ECO

Acacia Eco Trust is an organization working on implementing greening solutions to increase urban forests and landscape level eco-restoration including green and blue infrastructure solutions. Acacia Eco aims to do eco-restoration using a scientific approach; including techniques like the Miyawaki method of afforestation, which has been proven to work in adverse soil and climate conditions and have faster and more sustainable growth compared to traditional plantation techniques.

What we do under this MoU?

  • CGT joined hands to understand the industry needs and started working on developing geospatial tools
