A Global Initiative for a Green Earth – #BeatPlasticPollution

World Environment Day is celebrated on June 05 to raise worldwide awareness of pressing environmental issues and initiate action to protect our nature. The theme of World Environment Day 2023 is “Solutions to Plastic Pollution” emphasising the need to combat the climate crisis posed by global plastic pollution. The campaign #BeatPlasticPollution focuses on the steps governments and businesses around the world are taking to tackle plastic pollution and the subsequent consequence of this action. It also highlights the importance of accelerating this action and the transition to a circular economy.
As a part of World Environment Day celebrations, The Department of Environmental Science and Engineering is organising two invited lectures on June 05, 2023, by field experts to enlighten on the global solutions to combat plastic pollution. The speakers will expound on ways to manage waste as a resource and local waste management systems and policies.
