Ragging is a crime which destroys physical and emotional confidence, and it leads to an increase in anxiety and stress among students.
Ragging remains a deeply troubling issue within our country's higher education system. Despite causing irreparable harm to countless students, it is still mistakenly viewed by some as a form of 'familiarisation' and an 'initiation into the real world.' This misguided perception has led to the loss of hundreds of innocent lives and devastated the futures of many bright individuals.
At SRM University-AP, we uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. Our commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all students is unwavering. Ragging, in any form, is strictly prohibited, and any violations will be addressed promptly and rigorously in accordance with the law and university regulations. We strive to foster a culture rooted in respect, kindness, and inclusivity.
The University has established the Anti-Ragging Committee in compliance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions. This committee, along with a dedicated helpline, stands ready to support students, ensuring they can pursue their education free from harassment and intimidation. We urge everyone to remain vigilant, report any incidents of ragging promptly, and collaborate to uphold a campus environment where mutual respect and well-being are paramount.
