The PhD programme at the Department of Literature and Languages is designed for individuals who have a strong passion for the English language, literature, and critical analysis. Scholars can delve deep into subjects such as literary theory, literary history, cultural studies, linguistics, composition and rhetoric, and creative writing. The faculty advisors and mentors at the department, with expertise in a plethora of specialisations from Gender Studies to Neuro Linguistic Programming, offer extensive guidance and support in research and scholarly pursuits.
Candidates with a Master’s degree in English or related field (55% marks and above) and a valid UGC-NET or GATE certificate can apply for a direct interview. Other candidates will have to appear for an Entrance Test and Interview.
