Research Interests

  • The colonial reinventions of vernacular texts and traditions in the nineteenth and the twentieth century Malayalam region.
  • The afterlives of conflicts and conquests in modern Malayali memory.
  • The continuities and ruptures in sectarian practices and debates across religious communities (circa 1750 to the present).
