Research Interests

Life Cycle Assessment and Techno-Economic Analysis

  • Conducting LCAs to evaluate environmental impacts of various processes, including biofuel production and wastewater treatment. Performing TEAs to assess economic feasibility of sustainable manufacturing processes.

Water and wastewater Treatment

  • Investigating pollutant removal mechanisms from wastewater, focusing on emerging contaminants, such as PFAs and pharmaceuticals, and heavy metals. Modelling pollutant removal using several statistical and machine learning techniques.

Biomass valorization and resource recovery

  • Exploring biofuel production from diverse feedstocks like agricultural residues and microalgae. Optimizing thermochemical processes such as pyrolysis, gasification and hydrothermal liquefaction to improve yields of biochar, bio-oil and syngas.
