Reviewing your resume is advantageous since the reviewer evaluates from an employer’s perspective.
The Directorate of Alumni Affairs has planned to start Live Mentoring Programs by SRM-AP Alumni from different domains. The first mentoring session, Resume review, is scheduled to be organised this Saturday through zoom. Students can share their updated resumes with the mentors during the session to get practical input from them.

The key to a successful job interview
Facing an interview is a nightmare for many. There may be multiple factors lowering your level of confidence. Your depth of knowledge, ability to communicate, body language, dressing style, and an endless list of reasons could affect you in being yourself during an interview. While most of us are highly qualified academically, many are still groping in the dark to present ourselves as professionally qualified. And the sad fact is that, it is your professional persona that wins you a better chance of clearing the interview than your academic qualifications.
The Directorate of Alumni Affairs has scheduled a webinar on ‘How to succeed in an Interview’ with our notable alumni, Aayusi Biswas and Tuhin Sarkar from the Class of 2021, Computer Science and Engineering. Aayusi currently holds the position of Associate QA Software Engineer at Sabre Travel Technologies while Tuhin works as a Principal Analyst at AB InBev.

Know your skills, know your worth!
Between 1997 and 2017, the young population increased by 139 million, and the population of the young labour force declined to 58.7 million. Worldwide, one out of five people is not in employment, education, and training. Among these, the number of women is considerably huge. This is where World Youth Skills Day comes into the spotlight. The Directorate of Alumni Affairs is organising an Alumni Talk on My Skill, My Power to discuss the pertinence of competitive skills so as to meet the standards of the constantly advancing job market.

World Youth Skills Day spreads the significance of vocational educational training and developing other skills relevant to local and global economies. The Alumni talk features four students from the class of 2021 namely, Yoganand, Bismark Razak Haruna, Aaditya jain, and Adam Wumbila who have already figured out how to channel their fervour for a vibrant tomorrow.

Mentothon: right guidance at the right time
Reinforcing the sense of resilience is an essential aspect of academic life. Students require a generous support system during the challenging edges of academia. They need someone who shares the same interest to reflect on the ideas they cultivate. When it comes to a student’s future, the right mentoring can encourage them to make smart decisions. The bits of advice generated through mentoring could have alternate perspectives that will help develop perseverance for a brighter tomorrow.
The Directorate of Alumni Affairs is planning to start a career center Mentothon: Virtual Alumni- Student Mentoring Programmes, under the coordination of SRM AP Alumni from different domains. The first Mentothon session will be on Everything about studying in the USA to address the queries related to the study abroad dreams of students. The session will be handled by Abhin Gude, an alumnus of SRM AP who is currently doing his Master’s in Computer Science at New York University.
