The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering offers an Undergraduate program of B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering with specializations of VLSI designs & Embedded Systems, Advanced Communication Systems, Image/Signal Processing using AI, whereas, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering provides a B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with an opportunity to participate in the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP), Summer Internships, Specialized courses through the Study Abroad program, Senior Thesis Project, and Industry CO-OP through the semester.
The leading branches with high-end career prospects are ECE and EEE Engineering. The departments established at SRM University, AP have well equipped labs and have ample resources for completing operations related to the subject matter. It works closely with the industry and prestigious foreign institutes. The faculty members of the departments are versatile in many diverse fields. They have good research potential and are committed teachers. The curriculum encourages students to work in research groups to undertake research projects, and outstanding students are often rewarded with seed money, patent support, research travel allowances, and benefits to complete the research. Students are sent to foreign universities under the Student Abroad program, where they spend a semester and come back with a rich experience. The program continually focuses on creating model students who can succeed in their chosen career path, contribute to their professional sector, and serve as role models for their community. Students will have a variety of job roles to play in the market/real world as electronic engineers and electrical engineers. Bidding adieu to the maiden B. Tech Batch, SRM University, AP is immensely proud to announce the successful placement of students with a total of 95 percent of students placed. Among the top placements, one student received a 29.5LPA package, and 71% of students received job offers in the dream and super dream categories. Apart from securing jobs in the government sector, they are employed by top manufacturing companies, Multinational Corporations (MNCs), and research-based or industrial corporations.
An invited lecture, “Technologies for Connected Vehicles”, will be organised by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh, on June 19, 2021, at 11.00 am. In this online session, Dr Ramani Kalpathi, guest faculty at BITS Pilani, will give an introduction to intravehicle networks with a focus on CAN, LIN, Flexray, MOST, Ethernet, and Bluetooth networks introducing the frame formats, sample hardware implementation, and SAE formats.
Dr Ramani Kalpathi is also the founder of Powersoft Systems and The ARM Academy. He earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, USA, and M.S in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras. The use of Wifi and IoT technologies and their presence for ubiquitous networks with typical samples of synchronous messages will be presented for connected technologies, during the lecture. Implementation of Electric vehicles and the need for continuous data monitoring for autonomous vehicles may also be discussed for the purpose of diagnostics and reliability.
All interested B.Tech, M.Tech, and PhD students from any university are welcome to join the lecture upon registration.

Airborne maritime and pollution surveillance plays a crucial role in the defence sector for safeguarding the coastline, ISRR, EEZ as well as pollution control, piracy and maritime terrorism. The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at SRM University-AP organises a lecture titled “Airborne Maritime Surveillance” on August 21, 2021, at 4.00 pm as part of the Departmental Lecture Series. Dr Reena Sharma, Scientist G, Centre for Airborne Systems (Ministry of Defence R&D, DRDO) will be the guest speaker at the event.
There is a necessity to monitor the vast Indian, coastline, Indian Search and Rescue Region (ISRR) and the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) on the map of India. The airborne surveillance is carried out by mounting various surveillance and imaging sensors onboard, an aircraft making it a Maritime Patrol Aircraft or Multi-Mission Maritime Aircraft System. Some of the major sensors onboard comprise of AESA Based Maritime Patrol Radar, Electro-Optics/Infra-Red sensor, Pollution Surveillance Suite, Automatic Identification System and others. The sensor’s output is integrated to provide a maritime situational picture displayed to the operators, thereby providing them with a maritime situational awareness. In this talk, Dr Reena will be addressing the above facets of airborne maritime surveillance.
All are invited to this insightful session on August 21, 2021, at 4.00 pm.
