A. Nationality and Age

  • Resident or Non-Resident Indian (NRI), holder of PIO or OCI card issued by Government of India are eligible to apply for selection process
    Note: NRIs, holders of PIO or OCI card issued by Government of India must apply under International student Category only.
  • Should have attained the age of 16 + on the 31st July of the Calendar year in which the 12 Board or Qualifying examination is to be held.

B. Eligibility to apply for the Qualifying Examination

  • A Minimum aggregate score of 60 % or equivalent grade in Class X
  • A minimum aggregate score of 60% or equivalent grade in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics in Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) (or) appearing for their Class XII final board examinations in the current academic year from any International education boards recognized by Association of Indian Universities (https://www.scie.ac.in/upload/pdf/AIU-recognised-Boards-and-Universities-1.pdf)
  • Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects during 10+2 education or equivalent education
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma or IB certificate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.( https://www.ibo.org/ )
  • University of Cambridge General Certificate of Education (GCE) A-level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.( https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/ )
  • Number of Attempts a student can appear for the qualifying exam – A student can appear for Qualifying Examination a fixed number of times each year with the same application number.
  • Age Limit- Should have attained the age of 16 + on the 31st July of the Calendar year in which the 12 Board or Qualifying examination is to be held (Is there any maximum age limit or only minimum)

C. Eligibility for Admission through Qualifying Examination

  • Minimum overall Class X or equivalent exam percentage of 60%
  • A minimum aggregate score of 60% or equivalent grade in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics in Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) (or) a minimum grade of ‘D’ in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the GCE A level exam (or) a minimum average of 4 points for physics, chemistry and mathematics in International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma or IB certificate with overall minimum of 24 points. Technical vocational subjects must be related to Chemical/Civil/Computer/Electrical/Mechanical streams.
  • Qualifying in SRM JEEE (UG- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) / SRMAPET (or) Student with 60 percentile or above in IIT JEE (Mains) / Minimum SAT Score of 1300.
