Our Selection Process

The B. Tech programme offered by the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences is a four year programme with a minimum of 160 credits. An additional 20 credits may be applied towards honours or a minor programme. The curriculum is developed based on interdisciplinary ideas with an activity based learning approach. The students will also participate in undergraduate research as well as in multiple industry internships. The programme has an active semester abroad programme with multiple universities across the world.

SRM-AP Selection Process

Eligibility for B. Tech Programs (Duration: 4 years)

(a) Nationality and Age

Resident Indian or Non-Resident Indian (NRI), holder of PIO or OCI card issued by Government of India are eligible to apply for Selection Process.

Note: NRIs, holders of PIO or OCI card issued by Government of India must apply under International student category only.

Should have attained the age of 16 + on the 31st July of the calendar year in which the 12th Board or examination is to be held.

(b) Qualifying Examination:

All B. Tech programmes:

Minimum 60% aggregate in PCM

(i) Passed in the Higher secondary examination (10+2 pattern) or appearing in Higher Secondary examination in the current academic year with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) as major subjects in the regular stream from any state board within India, CBSE, ISCE, Matriculation, or NIOS

(ii) International Baccalaureate (IB) A-level with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as major subjects in any International school within India

(c) Selection through Joint Counselling

Since SRMJEEE (B.Tech) 2020 has been cancelled in view of COVID – 19 and keeping the safety of students and parents, Ranking would be based on 12th / Pre – University / Equivalent Marks. Admission would be through Joint Counselling in order of the Ranks when the Applicant can choose the campus and the branch depending on availability of seats. The decision of the University in regard to Admission is final and binding.
