Ms Mohua Das is a practising Psychotherapist working with a diverse adult population on a breadth of personal and professional issues. She has experience working in healthcare, educational, industrial, and private settings. She aspires to provide a safe, supportive, non-judgmental, and affirming space for individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds to enable sharing of their emotions, thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Ms Das prefers a holistic, collaborative, and flexible approach for clients or students. Her work covers areas of self-development, issues of depression, anxiety, phobias, emotional regulation, relationship difficulties, domestic violence, stress management, and coping with critical situations.
To conceptualise the client’s needs, she uses therapeutic approaches in counselling, which include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), & Solution Focused Therapy (SFT). Additionally, she is trained in Yoga and Meditation, practises Guided Imagery, and Mindfulness-based interventions to develop clients’ self-awareness, compassion, and resilience. She also utilises Art Therapy and Narrative Therapy to collaboratively work with clients/students to explore self-expression, develop insights into their difficulties, stressors, and traumas, & support meaningful change, growth & coping skills.
Ms Das did her Master’s in Applied Psychology from Gitam Deemed to be University, Visakhapatnam, India, in 2019 and her Bachelor’s in Life Sciences in 2017. She began her professional career as a Practical Trainee at the Government Hospital of Mental Care, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India, in 2019. In the same year, she worked as a Practical Trainee at Gitam Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India and also did private practice as a Psychotherapist. Until 2022, she was an Executive Psychological Counsellor at Brandix India Apparel City, Atchutapuram, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Ms Das also Served as an Internal Committee member (IC)- Executive Member for the Sexual Harassment Prevention Policy for the Organisation (POSH), which entailed an investigation of formal complaints, assisting in handling informal complaints and providing psychological interventions and counselling to the employees at Brandix India Apparel City, Andhra Pradesh, India. She also worked with different NGOs, schools, and colleges to create awareness and conduct workshops and sessions to provide a deeper understanding of mental health care under the National Service Scheme, Andhra University. Furthermore, she has an extended Service as Trainer, Educator and On-call Counsellor during Covid Lockdown for adolescents and adults.
