Internships are educational and career development opportunities, providing practical experience in a field or discipline. They are structured, short-term, supervised placements often focused around particular tasks or projects with defined timescales.
An internship may be compensated or non-compensated. The internship has to be meaningful and mutually beneficial to the intern and the organization. It is important that the objectives and the activities of the internship program are clearly defined and understood.

Summer Internship

Summer internships are usually six to eight weeks long and can be full or part-time. More students do internships during the summer than during any other time of the year. These short-term experiences provide a real insight into what it’s actually like working in a particular job or career field. There’s ample time to get into a regular work routine and gain valuable knowledge and skills.

Summer Internship (2019 – 2020)

SRM University-AP successfully completed its summer internship process for the students of 2021, 2022 & 2023 batches of all School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) & School of Liberal Arts and Basic Sciences (SLABS) and School of Management (SOM). All companies made internship offers to the class of 672 students.

Summer Internship (2018 – 2019)

SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh successfully concluded its summer internship process for the first batch (2017-19) of its B. Tech – Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. 75+ companies made internship offers to the class of 190 students. Recruiters include marquee companies like ICF, Flextronics, Coca cola, Colosseum Group, Kaar technologies, GKN Drive line, EFFTRONICS, ONGC etc. A wide diverse range of profiles were offered across AI Technology, Cyber security, Hacking, Mobile Technology etc.

Pre-Placement Offer

PPO stands for Pre-Placement Offer while PPI is Pre-Placement Interview. Most candidates take up summer internships during their course of study. In PPO, the candidate (former intern) is given a job offer by the organisation before the Institution Placement Drive happens or during the placement process. Based on the rankings, job description and compensation are offered, the participating companies are scheduled, during which they can initiate the recruitment process. A pre-placement offer or PPO, post the summer internship, is a much cherished job offer before final placements.
