Global Immersion Programme at Dubai
The Directorate of International Relations and Higher Studies’ (IR&HS) flagship event – the Winter Immersion Programme was organised in Dubai this year. The immersion programme was held in collaboration with Ureka Education Group, from January 06-12, 2025. The programme saw the participation of 22 enthusiastic students accompanied by a faculty member from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
During the event participants engaged in intellectually stimulating workshops at renowned research and entrepreneurial centres like – Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Dubai Technology and Entrepreneurship Campus (DTEC), and DEWA Innovation Centre, wherein they gained practical insights and technical know-hows in the field of research, innovation and entrepreneurial development.
Global Immersion Programme at AIT Thailand
The International AI Boot Camp, organised by AI Brain Lab in collaboration with AIT, took place in Thailand from January 6 to January 12, 2025. This immersive programme offered a unique blend of AI exploration and cultural exposure, allowing participants to engage with cutting-edge AI applications while experiencing Thailand’s rich heritage. Three students from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) participated in the AIT Thailand Global Immersion Programme, gaining valuable insights and hands-on experience.
Over the course of a week the boot camp offered a strong methodological foundation, fostering both technical expertise and personal growth. Beyond AI, it provided valuable exposure to international collaboration, cultural immersion, innovation, and personal development, making it a truly transformative experience.
Global Immersion Programme at INTI University, Malaysia
The Directorate of International Relations and Higher Studies (IR&HS) organised a Global Winter Immersion Programme for 32 students and 2 faculty members. The students from SRM AP‘s 3 schools—Paari School of Business, Easwari School of Liberal Arts, and School of Engineering and Sciences—set off for INTI International University, Malaysia.
The Immersion programme offered students an insight into the development and functioning of drone Technology. They were also able to learn how Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) are revolutionising the surveillance, agriculture, and logistics industry. They were also offered insights into Malaysia’s economy built on strategic trade industries, financial sector, and sustainability initiatives.

Global Immersion Programme at Middlesex University Dubai
The Directorate of International Relations and Higher Studies successfully organised a Winter Global Immersion Programme in collaboration with Immersion Global at Middlesex University Dubai in 2024. Two of our students, one from BBA. – Business Administration (Hons.) and another from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), participated in this enriching experience from November 5 to November 16, 2024

Global Immersion Programme
Global Immersion at SRM University-AP is strategically designed to provide our students and faculty members with the most enriching global exposure throughout the academic journey.

Global Immersion Programme Summer 2023
Global Immersion Programme at Malaysia
Engagement with different environments, cultures and economies helps students to create links and expand their reach across the map. The Directorate of International Relations & Higher Studies and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS collaborated to conduct the 10-day Global Immersion Programme from January 19 to January 28, 2023. An MoU inking ceremony between the two institutions was also held during the programme, featuring 17 students and two faculty members!
Global Immersion Programme at Dubai
The Directorate of International Relations & Higher Studies successfully completed the Dubai Global Immersion Programme by collaborating with the Ureka Education Group from January 17 to January 23, 2023. The programme featured 49 students and two faculty/staff members and provided the opportunity to explore three cities in UAE: Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi.
Global Immersion Programme Indonesia
The UMMI Indonesia Immersion Programme has been successfully completed by the Directorate of International Relations & Higher Studies in collaboration with Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi. The ten-day global immersion programme featured nine students and one staff member from January 19 to January 28, 2023.

Batch 1: 19th – 25th June 2022 ( 1 Week ) - 21 Students with Dr Sunil Chinnadurai
21 students from the first batch of students from SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh, has completed the Familiarisation Programme at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia in the month of June. This is part of Global Immersion facilitated by the Office of International Relations and Higher Studies at SRM AP.
Students and faculty mentors from SRM AP participated in several on and off-campus activities such as campus tours, cultural exchange, and recreational activities in UTP Malaysia. There were educational trips to Kuala Lumpur and PETRONAS Twin Towers. The students were accompanied by Dr Sunil Chinnadurai, Assistant Professor at SRM University-AP.
Batch 2: 26th June – 2nd July 2022 ( 1 Week ) - 26 Students with Dr Ashu Abdul
Students from the second batch of students from SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh, has completed the Familiarisation Programme at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia in the month of June. This is part of Global Immersion facilitated by the Office of International Relations and Higher Studies at SRM AP.
Students and faculty mentors from SRM AP participated in several on and off-campus activities such as campus tours, cultural exchange, and recreational activities in UTP Malaysia. There were educational trips to Kuala Lumpur and PETRONAS Twin Towers. The students were accompanied by Dr Ashu Abdul , Assistant Professor at SRM University-AP.
Batch 3: 17th July – 27th July 2022 (10 Days) - 29 Students with Dr Uma Maheswar
The UTP Familiarisation Programme was brought to a successful closure with the last batch of SRM University-AP students landing back from Malaysia. The familiarisation programme at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) Malaysia, was organised as part of Global Immersion facilitated by the Office of International Relations and Higher Studies at SRM AP. Students and faculty have participated in various on and off-campus programmes such as campus tours, training sessions, and cultural exchanges, organised as part of the programme that commenced in June 2022. The last batch of students was accompanied by Dr Uma Maheswar Arepalli on their educational trip to Kuala Lumpur and PETRONAS Twin Towers.
