Department of Chemistry

Often referred to as the Central Science, Chemistry plays a pivotal role in all aspects of physical and biological sciences, including engineering, agriculture, medicine, and allied health disciplines. Chemistry, as a subject discipline has seen a lot of varied applications from Electrochemistry to Engine Coolants. This not only makes the subject an interesting study discipline, but also an employment qualification sought after by many companies and firms.   

The Department of Chemistry, SRM Amaravati offers three years Undergraduate (B.Sc.) and Doctorate (Ph.D.) programs. Our undergraduate program has been designed not only providing a basic foundation in general areas of inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry, plus many more specialized courses, but also branch out to the other fields within  School of Liberal Arts and Basic Sciences in the form of Foundation courses and Minors, thereby making this a well-rounded offering of Science equally rich in knowledge of other branches. 

Some of the basic courses include Material, Analytical, Nuclear, Biophysical Chemistry and chemical biology disciplines, which provide undergraduate students a rigorous, high quality education, exceptional research opportunities in a subject-focussed and nurturing environment thereby making them Future-ready for an unpredictable yet challenging world. 

Chemistry is a primal science that opens up opportunities in a variety of industries, disciplines and aspects. Any candidate pursuing this branch of science is spoilt for choice as the professional avenues available are many. The candidate can be open for a variety of opportunities as this is a branch of science that is closely related to the other two primal branches of Science. 

In essence, this is a well-rounded branch of study that one can explore, get enlightened and thereby employ in various scenarios. As a result, any student pursuing this degree is exposed to an array of career choices that one can choose from, and excel.
