About Winter School
Computer vision is a rapidly evolving field that enables computers and systems to derive meaningful information from digital images, videos, and other visual inputs and take actions or make recommendations based on that information. The field has received broad interest from various stakeholders, including researchers, designers, developers, and even business entities. Image restoration is the first step towards meaningful computer vision, and this technology finds a wide array of applications in health care, remote sensing, etc. Over the years, though many classical techniques were developed to resolve the adversities in these fields, the present state of the art is due to modern deep-learning techniques. The one-week-long winter school organised by SRM University-AP is mapped out to expose the participants to modern deep learning techniques focusing on image restoration and computer vision applications with theory and hands-on sessions.
Scope
The one-week winter school at SRM University-AP will consist of lecture sessions, practical sessions, a project, and a competition for the participants. Renowned academicians in the field will handle the sessions.
Audience
The winter school is intended for research scholars working in image processing, computer vision, machine learning, and related fields. Undergraduate students and people from the industry looking for exposure or those working or planning to work in this area will also find the winter school useful. As such, there are no strict prior requisites for the program, but a basic understanding of signal processing concepts and a mathematical background will always be helpful.
